So I have to ask, why the hell is this happening? Let me make this clear: My computer crashed the exact same way 7 times, 3 with the software version that I'm currently using, and unplugging my HD with NO OTHER CHANGES fixes this issue, both with core usage and overall crashing. it was rare for one of the cores to go over 30%, and I had zero issues. But I decided to unplug it and see what happened. I saw that someone had this problem and fixed it by unplugging the Elgato from his USB 3.0 to a 2.0, but mine WAS plugged into a 2.0, and it was just the software processing, not the device itself. So, since temps weren't bad, I had no clue what was causing this. Again, this happened for all 3 software versions available. Then, about 1/8th or so into processing, the CPU usage for all cores would be 100%, or damn close, then my computer would either freeze or blue-screen. Interlaced content is being recorded with the correct frame rate with Game Capture HD60 S now. all 8 CPU cores were running around 40%, and temps were about 40-45 degrees C, so the usage was a bit much, but the temps seemed fine. Game Capture will be detected in 32-bit 3rd party applications again, even if Game Capture is not installed to the default directory. I know that I have a newer version installed, you don't have to hold my hand) (btw Elgato, please don't make us uninstall to downgrade our software. This only started happening today, and I tried all 3 versions of the software available for download.

So, today my computer decided to BSOD every time I tried to process a video into an MP4 in Elgato's software. Input: S-Video from PS2, Shadow of the Colossus (bad timing?)Īny idea what I can do to fix this? The CPU usage seems fine until it stops responding completely and starts going 100% on me. I had just submitted a post about this when it decided to start eating my CPU again. I thought that I had fixed this by unplugging the Elgato, which brought the CPU usage from all cores at around 40% (monitored 5 times) to about 20% (monitored 2 times), which seems weird, but as soon as I unplugged the thing I was able to process 2 videos back-to-back, whereas before I couldn't get through a fifth of one before my computer crashed. This appears to happen with all versions of the software available. It appears that the software keeps "not responding" and then starts using 100% of all 8 of my CPU cores.
